Grandma visit

Grandma C. came by for a visit. Claire enjoyed it, though probably not quite as much as Grandma. Will and I got to go out to eat, just the two of us, last night, which we hadn't done since Claire was born. We kept meaning to go, but somehow almost 5 months flew by! We won't wait that long again.

Go Badgers!

Claire and I went to the UW Women's basketball game last night with my friend Mary and her son Ben. They were playing in the semifinals of the WNIT in town. It was an exciting, close game the whole way and the Badgers came away with the victory, so it was pretty much a perfect game to watch!

Claire did pretty well through the game. She loved looking around at all the people and everything else going on. At times the crowd noise seemed a little too loud for her, but mostly if she was on my lap and could cuddle with me, it was just fine.

I got compliments from some avid fans because Claire's hair is even red.

Saturday Walk

We went on a walk on Saturday. These are a few pictures. It was chilly, but a beautiful, sunny late afternoon.

Sitting at the Table!

Claire sat in her high chair for the first time on Thursday night! (thanks Bernie and Fran!) She really seemed to like being up at the table with the big people. She can't quite sit up by herself (she's close) but with the help of a baby carrier she was quite secure and able to sit with us through dinner.

Tooting my own horn...

It's pretty cool when an event you're planning gets mentioned in the New York Times

Scroll down and you'll see mention of a "Wisconsin environmental group" that is planning an event at Sinsinawa Mound. You're all invited.

13 pounds, 5.5 oz !

Apologies for the lack of posts lately. We've had a busy week... filled with illnesses, unfortunately. Luckily, Claire didn't have more than a bad cold, but she didn't sleep much more than 30 min at a time for several nights, so it seemed like the week was a lot longer than usual. Anyway, we are all feeling better now (and sleeping better).

Claire had her 4 month doctor appointment on Friday. She was 13 lb and 5 1/2 oz and 25 1/4 inches tall. She handled the vaccines very well (finished crying pretty quickly), and the doctor was impressed at how well Claire can sit up with only a little help.

Here are few recent pictures.
