Vacation 2013: Part 15 - The End (finally!)

Jelly beans for the last little bit of the drive... so we made it back without 2 hours of screaming the last day.

Whew! I've taken as long to put all these posts up as the whole vacation, longer probably. 

Vacation 2013: Part 14 - the Meltdown

It was bound to happen (see her face here). I don't even know what it was about anymore, except that she hadn't napped the day before and slept probably about 2 hours less that night before, so she was exhausted.

Every vacation with kids has to have at least one meltdown, right?

At least it was a pretty place for it...

Don't be fooled, it's still going on, but the mountains are nicer to look at.

Vacation 2013: Part 13 - the Next Morning

We all survived our first night as a family of five in a tent! And everyone got plenty of sleep... ready to start the day!

... or not so much. 

It was a beautiful day, so as is traditional on past vacations, (here and here) we had to go and throw rocks in the lake.  There are a lot more splashes now with three rock throwers (well, four if you count Will. Usually I just watch and take pictures or keep kids from falling in the lake.)

I wonder if she's figured out how many rocks it would take yet?

Vacation 2013: Part 12 - The Lake

At first we just walked down to see Lake Turquoise and weren't planning to really get in. But we didn't know that right by the campground was the nice sand beach. So the girls wanted to wade.

... so we decided we should head back to camp and put on swim suits.

Back to camp after a great time at the lake!
