Teeth, Clapping, and Walking

Here's a few pictures, since some people don't believe me without proof.

The teeth:

Clapping:

I don't have any pictures of Claire walking without her little cart. She's so quick it's hard to get a still picture. We did get a little video of it the other day, so hopefully I'll get that edited soon and get it posted.

She enjoys walking:

LATE breaking news

I have been very neglectful as the unofficial family blogger. :o( Claire should have been mentioned in this blog for her latest, great achievement over a week ago! I apologize to all faithful readers for bringing you this news so late. And in addition, I have no pictures or video to document this latest feat. Hopefully those will be posted soon. So, to get on with it:

Claire has taken her first steps!!!!! (on Thursday, October 18) She took a few unassisted steps into my arms while I was picking her up at the babysitter's house that afternoon. She has since repeated her newest accomplishment several times, including for her dad to see. She seems to find it very funny to walk like the big people in the house. She usually throws her head back and laughs like crazy as she walks, which doesn't improve her balance at all. Claire still crawls anytime she actually wants to go anywhere. Right now walking is just a game.

Also, her two front top teeth are easily visible. I promise a picture of that soon.

Halloween is fast approaching, what will Claire be? Any guesses? (hint: keep in mind her favorite word.)

Claire's new friend

We visited our friends Rachel and Nate and Molly on Saturday in the hospital. It's amazing how much a baby grows and changes in a year! Claire seems like a little person compared to newborn Molly. Claire was somewhat interested in Molly, but mostly enjoyed playing with a small stuffed dog that someone had given the baby.

Here are some other fall pictures from a week or so ago:

Cool Kid

On one of the last days of warm weather Claire and Dad hung out together on the porch while Mom worked. Claire hadn't wanted to wear her sunglasses until Will put on his and then took her to a mirror to show her how they looked alike. Then the sunglasses were pretty cool.

Last Weekend

Claire's Grandma C. visited. We visited the botanical gardens near our house and saw the inside and outside gardens and the quilt show.

Claire loved watching the Koi.

Claire also really likes brightly colored flowers.

Claire loved the fountains.

Will's Aunt Mia and Uncle Marc visited on Sunday. Claire and Mia played soccer.

11 Months!

Claire is 11 months old today! In the last couple weeks she has learned how to clap her hands, how to wave goodbye, and how to make the American Sign Language sign for "more." (as in, MORE Cheerios, MORE bread, MORE crackers, never MORE veggies...) Also, in the last couple days she's been drooling and fussy and is probably getting in another tooth or two.

She likes to scrunch up her eyes for pictures. Also, her hair is growing, as you can see in these pictures. It's actually looking a big shaggy over her ears.

Sometimes she likes to play hide and seek with her bib while she's eating.

Here I think she's practicing her 'angry' face.

Weekends Outside

The last two weekends have been beautiful here!! We have spent a lot of time outside. These pictures are from Sept 22-23, this past weekend we had several visitors and pictures will be posted soon about those visits.

The dog next door is one of Claire's favorite ways of putting off her nap. She can stand up in her crib and push aside the curtain and see him if he's outside. Then we hear squealing from her room. Here she visits him close up.
