The 'Biggest' Sister

She loves riding her bike, playing with her sisters, and helping mom and dad with any work we might be doing, from helping grade my students' exams to digging gardens.

Look who's three today!

Sage is 5 months old!

Hard to believe Sage is 5 months old already!  Here are a few pictures of her over the past month.  She is still a pretty happy baby, and loves being held by mom or dad so that she can watch her sisters in action.

(she had a lot of fun practicing her 'b' sounds a few weeks ago - and drooling, which she does a lot of these days.)

Lately the girls have enjoyed watching videos of themselves when they were little.  But the last one was a while ago, so Sage wasn't included.

Now - finally! - a new video, showing Sage growing up the past four months and a bit of her sisters, too.  As a bonus for loyal blog readers this will be posted here for a few days before it makes it to facebook! :) Hope you like it!

Kindergarten Round Up

Claire was pretty excited to go to kindergarten round up a few nights ago.  She listened very intently to the Principal's talk, didn't look back when we dropped her off to spend time with the kindergarten teachers in the classroom, and was pretty happy to show us the book she had been given and tell us all about it on the way home.  When she got home, she had to read the book to Lise and Sage and Ma (who had been babysitting her sisters).  She also had to tell them all about the event.

We're not sure how she's going to wait until August to go to school, because she already keeps saying that she's a 'Bryant Bulldog' (their mascot - the Principal had told them that) and how she wants to go to kindergarten now.  We hear this is a common phenomenon after these events, but I'm not sure that's going to make it easier to deal with for the next 4+ months!

Baby Lottery

We missed blogging Sage's 4 month birthday (not that we've been very good about the other months or her sister's actual birthdays over the years!).  Can't believe she's 4+ months old already! (sorry for the bad photos - not good light tonight, but she is so smiley I wanted to get some pictures)

If she's not smiling (and sometimes even when she is) she typically has at least one finger in her mouth.

Again, not great pictures, but she continues to be such an amazingly happy baby.  We feel like we won the baby lottery - and most days I'd take a happy baby over the record lottery jackpot from a few days back.  (so no, the title of this post does NOT mean we are giving our baby away in a baby lottery, in case anyone was wondering.)

She saves her biggest smiles for her sisters.  I have a feeling she might crawl early... she already looks like she wants to try to follow her big sisters as they run from place to place around the house!
