FAMILY

I love this picture!  I'm amazed that we were able to get one - both babies awake (and not crying), and all the other granddaughters persuaded to stay in their chair and mostly looking and smiling at the camera! (oh, and the adults too!)

Wonderful to see everyone! Love you guys!

Last day of school and 1 mile race

I tried to be a good blogger and get a 'last day of school' picture to match our first day of school picture:

But the girls had other ideas...

Will had to leave early, we were already running late to get Claire to school on time, and Sage was determined to get in the car and refused to pose, instead always running over to the car to try to open a door. So... this is as good as we got this year for last day picture!

Maybe you can see in the below picture from the girls' 1 mile race this year that they all look a little older (not me though, I'm sure I don't look any older)

"Mine!"

Once Sage was around 18 months old, she seemed to be able to actually play with her sisters much more than she had before. Of course, kids being kids, (and especially 18 mo-olds being what they are!) this doesn't always end well. Sage has a fairly small vocabulary, but in the last two weeks one of those words she's learned is 'mine!' (usually said with an upward inflection/shriek at the end) I don't remember the other two knowing that word nearly this early, but Sage is in a group daycare setting, which the other two weren't at this age. She's also the youngest (and has Lise as one older sister...)

So sometimes this happens...

But flipping the camera's view screen around so that she and Claire can see themselves in the screen gets her attention:

And pretty soon, she is loving seeing herself while mama's got that silver thing near her face again and she forgets what she was so upset about:

FUN day

We had been hearing about 'Fun Day' at C's school for a long time. When it finally arrived, it didn't disappoint. There was face painting, games, a dunk tank with a teacher in it, and lots of other fun things, and C's class also won the 'spirit stick' award with another class for good sportsmanship. I think she's already looking forward to next year's Fun Day (and her little sister might be looking forward to two years from now!)

Early June riverwalk

Will took the younger two down to the riverwalk one day when Claire still had school.

End of April? May?

We're back! I knew I had a busy end of the semester this year, but I didn't realize I hadn't updated the blog since April 11... ! So, here's a few pictures of what happened in May and late April, and hopefully things will get back to their every-once-in-a-while updating soon (I'm still teaching for another week, so eventually...)
