Influenced

It's amazing just how quickly and easily influenced kids really are by videos. Claire doesn't see much (any?) TV but does get to watch the occasional YouTube video of animals, Elmo or other fun things. Recently she's seen a couple clips from the website FloTrack, which features running videos. Claire watched the following "Workout Wednesday" video once or twice and was mesmerized by the jumping.



For several days now she will spend much of the day running laps, pretending to change shoes, running and pretending to jump, pretending to change shoes, running laps etc. If she becomes a heptathlete and needs a different pair of spikes for each event we will know what to blame. I'm just hoping she's not burned out by the time she's three.

Seeing how influential this video has been on Claire's recent actions and behaviors nobody can tell us that kids aren't influenced by what they see on TV!!!!

Note: I wrote this earlier and meant to post it earlier this month, along with video of Claire imitating Carolina. That will come sometime in the future. In the hours that Claire spends sitting on her potty each time she has to go during the last week she has watched this video many, many more times... and still loves it.
