Lise formed quite the attachment to her Great-Grandpa this trip to the farm. She wanted to sit next to him at dinner the day we were leaving, and said during the meal: "Gramps, you're my best friend... because you do funny things." Then, a bit later, she urgently asked for paper and pencil because she wanted to show Gramps how she could write her name:

Always before she had seemed a bit scared of Gramps (he's not exactly a quiet, leave-you-alone sort of guy, as my siblings and cousins can attest to) but this trip, she thought he was great!
Unfortunately, he's a bit hard of hearing and Lise is tough to understand even for us sometimes. I think he felt bad he couldn't always catch what she said to him, but we did our best to translate.
