Weekend wrap-up

It was quite the weekend for us and it's really nice to have a pretty quiet Monday in our home. We left the hospital yesterday afternoon after seeing most of our families in the morning. Our first night at home went pretty smoothly with everyone enjoying more sleep than the night before. Today has been a pretty lazy day, with everyone enjoying their naps.

Here are some more pictures from this weekend.

It took slightly less than a minute before Ma and Pop started arguing over who got to hold Lise...

She is pretty cute.

Claire is no longer the center of attention.

Claire, Andy, and Josie all look pretty happy.

Lise Marie Hoyer

Lise (we're pronouncing it like 'fleece' but without the 'f') Marie arrived this morning at 10:47. She weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces and was 21 inches long. Unlike her big sister, Lise sped through the whole process and was anxious to enter the world. She "popped out," as Claire likes to say, less than 2.5 hours after we arrived at the hospital this morning AND allowed us both to sleep plenty last night.

Claire and Lise met for the first time this afternoon. Claire was a little uncertain, but quickly warmed up to her li'l sis and gave her plenty of kisses and loved holding her. Lise was not quite as interesting to Claire as the hospital bed, however, which could be raised, lowered, and adjusted this way and that, all with the push of a button. If anybody is getting an early start on Christmas shopping for Claire a hospital bed might be a good place to start.

Needless to say we are thrilled to have another healthy daughter and look forward to getting to know her. Welcome to the family, Lise!

A year in review

Last night we were looking back on the last year of photos (our Mac, which houses our photos is now a year old) and thought we'd put together a slideshow of Claire's life over the last year. Enjoy.

Last days of 3...

Any day now our family will become 33% bigger. Until then we are enjoying a few last days as a trio, as Kate is done teaching for the semester. Today we took advantage of beautiful San Diego-esque weather and played outside.

With any luck our next post will include pictures of Baby X...

Rock toss revisited

It's been maybe half a year since Claire and I last played Rock Toss. Thanks to a recent rash of injuries to my legs I have not been running much at all, but now have loads of energy to devote to other energy-intensive activities like throwing rocks into the Mississippi River. That, combined with absolutely 100% perfect weather, made for one heck of an enjoyable morning in the park. Now if only sunshine healed injuries...

Here's a green egg! What kind of bird lays green eggs?

Look! A pink one!

There's just something about the thrill of the Easter egg hunt for the Cooper women...
