Part of our stay in Leadville was at a Lake Turquoise campground. We kept it simple on this, our first camping trip post-kids (yep it had been a while!), we slept in the tent, ate cereal for breakfast, and then ate lunch and dinner at High Mountain Pies (not that many people reading our blog are unaware of the best pizza place in the entire world). There was a burn ban on until about an hour or two before we arrived in camp, and we hadn't heard it was lifted, so we didn't have stuff for a fire and roasting marshmallows. The girls loved camping anyway, so this way next time when we add that bit of fun they'll be even more thrilled! Best part of camping: swimming in the lake (pics in a future post!). Worst part: maybe the pit toilets? (... the whole worst part of vacation for me anyway was wasting much of it standing around waiting for girls to use the facilities wherever we were (or holding onto them while they did because they were worried they might fall down in the hole!) I was never so glad to get home where 2/3 of them can use the bathroom alone!
